Abacus Malaysia was founded with a clear ambition: to build a Malaysian professional services firm capable of delivering the same level of quality, discipline, and insight expected of international networks while remaining deeply grounded in the realities of local businesses.
From its beginnings with one founder, three partners, and two staff, the firm has grown into a homegrown leader with nine partners and more than 200 professionals, and is recognised today as one of Malaysia’s largest locally established audit firms.
Our journey mirrors that of many of our clients built from the ground up, strengthened through perseverance, and guided by the belief that Malaysian companies can rise to any challenge with the right support.

A key milestone was the spin-off of our non-audit business, a decision that sharpened our independence, strengthened audit quality, and aligned the firm toward long-term sustainability. Through this process, we reaffirmed a principle shared by many leading organisations globally: progress requires clarity of purpose, alignment of values, and disciplined execution.
These principles continue to guide our path as we work toward our long-term aspiration of becoming a 30-partner, 500-professional firm serving clients across Malaysia and the region.
